New Orleans Day Trip (part 4, the end)

We were getting hungry. Our beignets were only a fond memory. Our FO (first officer) had been here often enough he knew his way around and suggested we eat at the Acme Oyster House.

Off we went, looking for this:

MSY Acme sign

Through arches.

Down Bourbon Street. Pretty Shoulders took this picture and shared it with me.

And Royal Street. (I think.)

MSY hanging gardens

By the Mississippi. (I know, for sure.)

People come to the river to stack stones.  To balance stones, to be exact.            Ahhh. . . Ancient Buddhist practice to clear the mind. My mind is clearly not getting how this works better than a gin and tonic.

Across the trolley tracks.

Up one street and down another. (There she is again. Do you see the peachy lady on the sidewalk to the right? I told you about her before.)

MSY Walking on a street

Finally to Iberville St. We were there!

Other people like this place, too. We were next in line behind that white and blue check shoulder you see to the right. It only took about 15 minutes to get a table.

This was the view from our table.

We ate oysters

and crawfish.

MSY Crayfish

Pretty Shoulders had never had crawfish. She loved them. Not the head sucking part, just the tails.

Sadly, I learned a lesson this day. I blew out my cell battery taking pictures. Always carry a spare or charger along.

There wasn’t that much left of our day. We had to be at the airport the next morning at 5 am, so we called it a day by 6 pm and caught Uber back to the hotel.

Until next time. Be sweet.

Occasionally, I'll provide a link to where you can find something discussed in a post. If something's good, you may want it as well, and knowing where you can find it should be easy. Those links may or may not provide compensation back to me... most don't. But, I felt you should know.
